It's a 4.5 stars not a 5 I explain why. I tried almost 10 pastries, the goat cheese croissant was dinine! I had a pear pie which wasn't far from being perfect, a pear danish croissant, pain aux raisins, custard croissant (I've asked for the almond one got the normal) THE ISSUE is mille feuilles and the Eclair au chocolat. I was really curious before trying this bakery to see if they can make a good mille feuille, cause even the really GOOD BAKERIES that I have tried, everything was amazing except the mille feuille. It was just honestly just O.K, it was more like a 5$ pastry than a 10$. Same for the Eclair au chocolat, the dough was too soft, totally lacking texture, it has to be mastered better. Also the chocolate filling was way too BASIC, for 10$ we need a WOW effect! And also the croissant wasn't the right texture neither, it has to be more flaky and crunchy, I've had better croissant. ALSO, I was very surprised that the custard didn't have any vanilla bean NOWHERE. This will totally level up ALL pastries and get them to a 4.8-5 stars. Cause the pear pie and goat cheese honey croissant got me a WOW effect. It's probably one of the Best Bakery in Brisbane that's for sure, but I will not recommend the Mille Feuille and éclair, and the give a 5 review, I need the WOW effect on every single one. For the vanilla bean, we just a a drop of rhum/vanilla inside the crème patissière and that's it. I'll defitely go back to try the triple cheese, really good food experience, that's for sure and the staff is french.
PS: I wish you guys had the chocolate almond croissant with the vanilla custard and chausson aux pommes, that's my favourites actually :')

A beautiful bakery with an incredible selection of authentic French pastries.
First visit: I tried the almond croissant—not the fluffiest or tastiest I’ve had, but still soft and sweet. My partner had the chocolate éclair, which he found a bit too rich due to the mousse. Still, the variety on offer really impressed me and had me keen to return.
Second visit: Oh my gosh—what a difference! My tastebuds were exploding. My friend and I shared the raspberry danish and the custard almond croissant. The raspberry danish was perfection—crispy yet soft pastry, creamy custard in the middle, and a beautiful raspberry jelly on top. The flavour balance was incredible. The custard almond croissant was also delicious—the smooth, flavourful custard paired perfectly with the buttery croissant.
Splitting both made for such a great combo. Can’t wait to keep working my way through the pastry cabinet.

Perfectly flaky, not too sweet, just the right amount of icing sugar on top. The line to get into the store is worth the short wait, and there were still plenty of pastries at 10am. I was surprised with how many different varieties of pastries there were, both sweet and savoury, as well as how fancy the breads available were too.

There’s a line, but it usually moves fast. Get there before 8am to skip the queue. Vanilla slice was everything it should be. Sourdough quality and large.

I stopped by Christian Jacques Bakery early in the morning around 7:30, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. I tried the Nutella croissants, the almond custard croissant, and the raisin rolls — all of them were absolutely delicious. You can tell everything is freshly baked, and the warm, sweet aroma that fills the bakery makes it even more inviting.
On top of the amazing pastries, the customer service was excellent. The staff were cheerful, chatting happily with each other and customers, which made the atmosphere so welcoming. It’s the perfect place to start the morning with a smile (and a croissant!). Highly recommend!

Best french bakery in Brisbane with the best croissants. We’ve been there several times and even the bread is good. This time we tried a sorted selection of croissants, they were all delicious. There are other pastries, but we can’t help ourselves with those croissants. The inside is very soft but the outside crunchy, the fillings are not disappointing, the nutella one has also layers of chocolate in the outside and a very generous filling inside. Same with the baguettes we’ve bought sometimes, the crunchiness from the outside is only the great start as you get to the inside. Just help yourself with a coffee nearby or take them to enjoy at home. This time we stayed by the river in the kangaroo cliffs.

Absolutely beautiful pastries — crafted to perfection! 🥐🇫🇷 The lovely French ladies at the counter were so warm and helpful when recommending what to try.
If you love custard, their custard pastry is an absolute MUST-BUY. And if you prefer something classic, their plain croissant is simply perfect 👌
I personally like the Almond custard croissant. 🥐 the Nutella or custard aren't sweet so don't worry.
Even after keeping the croissants in the fridge overnight, they still tasted incredible. I even had a custard pastry after two nights in the fridge and it was still amazing!
A big thank you to the chef and the whole team for creating such delicious pastries — they’re truly amazing, and I absolutely love them.
Trust me — one bite and you’ll be coming back again. It's that good !
